I don’t know about you but I can vividly remember my first designer purchase. I was 21, living in Ireland and had just landed a job at IMAGE magazine A.K.A. the country’s answer to international style bibles like Vogue and Elle. Working closely alongside the fashion editor, Sive, I was constantly in awe of her ability to look edgy, chic, polished and professional all at once – not to mention her knack for making it all seem so effortless.
With a closet full of $30 finds that didn’t fit quite right or wash very well I had long suspected it was time to start prioritizing quality over quantity (although I still love my high street brands – especially when it comes to experimenting with new styles or trying out new trends) but it was Sive who really inspired me to start investing in staples I could feel both happy and confident wearing on repeat.
After a lot of back and forth I finally decided that the first thing I should invest in was a good pair of jeans – something I could style appropriately for the office and get a ton of use out of during my downtime too. Knowing I was about to drop something like $200 on a pair I headed straight to the biggest and best designer denim bar in Dublin. Two hours (countless brands, washes and cuts) later and I’d finally found the pair for me; ankle length skinnies in a wear-anywhere dark wash from 7 For All Mankind. A modern-day Cinderella moment, I’d never been so impressed by the fit or feel of any pants, sweater or dress before.
Needless to say, I’ve been loyal to the brand ever since and now consider it my “go-to” for classic jeans with a contemporary twist. My latest 7FAM purchase? This perfectly distressed pair I found at Neiman Marcus. Officially the cutest and comfiest jeans in my closet, I’ve been wearing them non-stop since treating myself last week. I dressed ’em up with a ruffled shirt and satin pumps for dinner at Coppa (one of my faves) but I promise they look just as cute with a cozy knit and casual sneaks!
I’d love to know, have you tried 7FAM yet? And how would you wear this pair?
