If you’ve been following along for a while now then you know I’ve long been a fan of Neiman Marcus and CUSP by Neiman Marcus (A.K.A. the store’s oh-so-carefully curated selection of contemporary brands and designers – think Tory Burch, Splendid and Carven) in particular. So, when the guys from NM asked if I’d be interested in checking out their fall arrivals and possibly even styling my favorite here on the blog, I jumped at the opportunity.
Now, I’m not going to lie to you, the entire process was much tougher than I’d expected. You see, I’ve never been what you’d call decisive so thinking I’d be able to choose just one must-have for the season was extremely naive of me – especially since NM keeps adding gems like Saloni to it’s CUSP line up. Eventually however (after a lot of back and forth, some mental exhaustion and perhaps a few tears – just kidding . . . sort of!) I did come to a decision. The midi you see here? There was no way I could face fall without it!

Okay, so if I’m being totally honest it would have been difficult if not impossible for me to resist those pleats (not to mention that discount – it’s currently 25% off at NM and selling fast!) but practically speaking this Club Monaco number seemed just versatile enough to keep up with the craziness that is October in New England. Nothing if not unpredictable, this time of year has been known to bring both snowstorm and heatwave.
As you can probably tell, last week started out in the eighties which means your girl ended up rocking her rosy hued must-have with an off-the-shoulder tee but on days like today (it dipped into the low sixties last Friday and hasn’t changed yet) I’ll be swapping that out for a lightweight knit like this one. In case you couldn’t tell, I’ve really been feeling bold color combos lately but if they’re less your speed then a simple black turtleneck or chunky olive sweater (I’ve had my eye on this one for a while now) would look just as cute with this skirt – see, ridiculously versatile!
Have you done much shopping for fall/winter yet? And if so, any great tips or finds for this gal?
