I’ve always loved bralettes (especially the super delicate lace styles) but for years I was convinced I couldn’t wear them. You see, I’ve always had a deceptively large chest (I’m a 32D) which I’ve never been a fan of. Right now you’re either thinking “I hear you girl” or “you cray” because, let’s face it, we always want what we can’t (or should that be don’t?) have – I’ve long been envious of smaller chested friends who can rock a plunging neckline or go braless without looking like they’re trying to bring all the boys to the yard (LOLS) whereas they’ve often complained about not having the cleavage they want! Thanks to the guys at Kohl’s however, I feel like a whole new world of options has opened up to me . . .
When they first reached out to ask if I’d like to try and then provide a little feedback on a couple of their bralettes, I immediately thought (and responded with) “I’m not sure I’m your gal!” After reassuring me that even criticism was welcome however, I decided I might as well take a peek at their selection (which is massive by the way) and I’m so happy I did. When I was finally finished clicking “add to cart” I had five different styles from brands like Maidenform and Lily of France selected – hey, they were asking for feedback, I had to be thorough! My favorites so far? Cute enough and supportive enough to rock during the week and out of the house A.K.A. true gems!
Since I can’t help but think of this post as some sort of P.S.A. for fellow larger chested ladies (#savingtheworldonedayatatime) I’ve included a little info about my three favorite styes below . . .
Maidenform Cutout Bralette Thanks to it’s double crisscrossed straps and wider back band this may have been the most supportive of all the styles I tried. What I really loved about it however was the versatility it offered – hello statement back and front! Even better yet? It’s now on sale (plus you nab an extra 20% off right now) which makes it less than $13 and a total steal.
Maidenform T Back Lace Bralette Ridiculously pretty and feminine, this is one of those bralettes you can’t help but fall in love with. Making it really special however, is that combination of V-neck and racerback which allow you to choose between totally concealing this one (if you’re feeling modest/opting for a more streamlined look) or showing a little lace like I did here. Bonus? It’s available in a ton a gorgeous colors – naturally “pink pirouette” was my absolute favorite!
Lily of France Sensational Two Pack Feeling indecisive? Looking for a steal? Then get one of these in your cart STAT! This two pack doesn’t just provide two great bras but two decidedly different yet equally great bras. The first is tailored and completely seamless (with a delicate lace trim) for a simple, everyday silhouette while the second is all about that lace – perfect for cozy days with your S/O if you ask me! Supportive and streamlined these bralettes boast hard-to-find details such as lightly padded cups for gals who want a little extra coverage as well as fully adjustable bra straps.
