If you’ve been following along on insta-stories then you may have noticed that I’ve been spending quite a bit of time in Nantucket lately. While most trips have been work related and way briefer than any trip to the island should ever be (I spent just 8 hours there one day – on the plus side, I did get to fly with Cape Air for the very first time and the views were incredible) I’ve been lucky enough to fit in a little play.
Having reached my productivity quota for the day yesterday, I decided to borrow one of the hotels adorable bikes – we’ve been staying at The White Elephant and they’ve thought of everything, everything a guest could ever want. Seriously, if two wheels isn’t your thing you can request a BMW for exploring the island but I digress.
After a quick jaunt to Brant Point to watch the waves roll in (and pose for a few obligatory lighthouse pics #itsanantucketthing) it was clearly time for a flower run. Naturally, the minute I walked into the store florist I fell in love with some of the most expensive blooms in there. I’m not sure if you’ve ever seen Dutch Hydrangeas but they’re stunning. At $22.50 a stem however, I quickly decided they weren’t that stunning. What can I say, I’d rather spend $100 on shoes than blooms, plus going with the equally beautiful but much less bank-breaking bunch I did meant I had the perfect excuse to treat myself – hey, good decision making deserves recognition!
I knew exactly what I wanted to reward myself with too, coffee and a giant slab of my favorite chocolate, peanut butter fudge from Aunt Leah’s. If you’re ever in Nantucket then I seriously recommend making this place your first stop – I would have included a pic for your pleasure but I’m afraid neither the giant slab or the coffee enjoyed very long lives. #nojudgementplease
Oh and in case you’re wondering 1. Pansy the puppy does not come with the bike (her lovely mama, Ivy, let me steal her for a few pics – you can follow them at @pansypoodle_ and 2. almost everything I’m wearing (except the slides which I would not recommend for biking) is now on sale at LOFT. Speaking of which, I’ll be hosting an event at the store’s Derby St. location tomorrow. Come hang and shop with me from 3-6.
